Living on a Prayer

It's funny to me that the older I get, the more I learn to appreciate certain things. Thanks to my brother-in-law, I have grown to be a little more than obsessed with 80's butt rock, and all 80's music for that matter. I was able to go to the Bon Jovi concert, and it was by far the best concert I had ever been to!! Let's not forget that he is also very attractive so eye candy for 3 hours works for me! I was able to go with some of my very best friends and it was amazing! Bless you Jon Bon Jovi for being introduced into my life so that I may worship your music for decades to come!! And thanks girls for coming with me to enjoy such a show!

Committed, or Committing.

So today I signed up to do a half marathon. I think it's a crazy idea, but when someone brought it up to me to do it with them...I convinced about 5 other people to do it with me! This way I have to stick to it and cross that damn finish line! When people talk to me about exercise, I don't like it...and really who does? Running to me is boring and it's hard on the body, but we all have a routine that we're sticking with and we're making it happen! In exactly 25 weeks from Monday, I will be running the Salt Lake City Marathon that goes from the University of Utah all the way to the Gateway. My goal is to do it in 3 hours which is definitely a goal that is realistic, but will still push me to run across that finish line! I'm excited to do this with all my friends and my awesome sister! I think for her to be able to do this with me is insanely cool! She has 3 babies and is a total rockstar for being willing to do this and even if she does a 5k, she rocks!

I also got a second job this holiday season, to just make sure that don't get behind on my holiday shopping bills! This way it's like I still get to keep my balance in my bank account. I'm excited to stay busy since school is almost finished...Don't even know what to think about that! The semester is over, the snow is beginning to fall, Fall is over, skiing is just around the corner, and I have one more semester left before I graduate and continue on doing great things in my life! It's just crazy, all super surreal and wildly exciting!! Also for Halloween...I'm a purple crayon!

The Wait

So school has finally started...or at least I think it has! I was starting my awesome Masters program today at SLCC and I was happy to go even though it was ridiculously early (hello to hair up always) and then the worst news. They might be cutting my program this year due to budget cuts and the number of students interested in the course! This has caused great anxiety in my head and my blood pressure has never been higher. We will see what happens! Isn't that a famous quote...everything happens for a reason? I sure hope there is a reason behind this! I don't think I'm ready for a set back like this in my life! It's nice to know that I still have other options, but it's scary to think that my life plan has just been altered. Nothing ever goes according to plan, which is normal.

However...always a positive! Ever been to a 3D movie? DON'T DO IT IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN! IT WAS HORRIBLE! My head was spinning for hours and my headache was constant for 2 days! It was awful, however the movie was delightful. Step Up 3... I'm excited to see it in a normal setting!

Waiting...waiting...waiting...OVER!

Ok, so I don't have a huge fan base so for the wait it might not be as big as I think it is! It's been forever, but I'm not a religious blogger! My time is occupied with school and work, which I enjoy both! Well this month marks the anniversary of my 1 year divorce...It's been a crazy year of ups and downs, but overall it's been one of the better things that has happened. I started school and I love it. I will be finished with my Master Esthetic license in May of 2011, I just finished with my basics, and I will then head either up to the U of U, or up to Utah State again! I finally have declared my major which has been the source of a headache for the last couple of months! Not knowing where you're going or what you want to do is stressful! Business Administration with an emphasis on Communication! I'm actually excited about it! I think it will really work with what I want to do with the rest of my life! For once I can say I'M EXCITED! It's hard to be in the shadows of my siblings, but I feel now that I have found the few things I can be great at!

So now that that's over...recap of summer! My bestie moved home for the summer, Chelsee, and we have been spending lots and lots of time together! I don't know what I would've done without her! She has been so great and so fun to have around this summer! She is heading up to the cold land in August but I will visit! We took a major road trip together to Reno to visit our other bestie Kendall in Reno!

On our way to Lake Tahoe!

The water is seriously SO SO cold, but it's gorgeous!

Kendall also wanted us to "experience" Reno...so we did! We went to the hottest nightclub in Reno, with a $20 cover mind you, and rode the Reno swing! It's 280 feet up and it just drops you! Like that ride at Lagoon...only moreso ridiculous in height and fright! We gambled of course and ate ourselves sick, but it was an amazing road trip! Also, Salt Flats...Way Cool!

Next post...Bear Lake enjoyment! Thus far it's been a great summer! I've been to California, Oregon, Nevada, Idaho, and Wyoming! Lots of travel, but so much fun!

Alarm anyone?

This weekend I went on my first ride along with the Millcreek 106 Fire Station! It was awesome!! I was terrified the entire time and there was no reason whatsoever! The firemen were amazingly kind, and treated me as one of their own! I couldn't believe how exciting it was, and most of the time we were just hanging out in the station! I felt like a 12 year old kid and I think I was glowing the entire time! I even felt awful hoping for an accident! We did end up getting a couple of calls and one was a terrible car accident and the poor old lady got face all smashed! It was terrifying and scary and I rode in the ambulance, and it was crazy! I just can't thank Jay enough for such a "fun" day!!

So many gadgets and gizmos!
My seat on the fire truck! I even had my own jacket! All official!
Station 106
They even have a POLE!!

I can't believe how exciting it was! Can't wait to go to the Kearns station! Thanks Jay!

The Switch

Well I did it folks....I went to the Mac side! I traded in my old dinosaur PC; with no battery life, shut off every time you closed it, took FOREVER and a day to load a page, had to defragment it almost every month (defrag for those who don't know...wipe out and start over), and lug it to classes with a big long cord! It was time for a change to get me through school and to have a fresh start! I am LOVING it so much!! It does everything plus some that I even like the overwhelming feeling!! Its so pretty!

New Years Resolution

Yes yes yes, it has finally happened, my own blog! I'm hoping that this way, those who care, can follow what I'm doing with my life now! It's been an interesting 2009 and I'm SO glad that it's over!! I can start to move on and begin a new year with a new attitude! Thanks to everyone for your support!!

School starts on Monday so I will be busy once again! Leave my house at 6:30 and won't be home til about 8 every single day! Then on Thursdays an institute class at 8 up at the U. It will be my first experience on the University of Utah campus and even though its just one small class i'm pretty excited. That's where I will be going once I finish up my license at SLCC in a year. I never thought my life would turn out this way, but I'm very grateful for every experience I have had these last 5 years. It has made me who I am today and I don't think I would change that. I have grown and am finding myself more successful in everything that I strive to accomplish. Come what may, and have faith!
